What can you find in Bembridge?

Bembridge is one of the biggest villages in England, with a population of around 3,500, and as a result, there is plenty to see and do here.

The Visit Isle of Wight website shares: “From a wonderful windmill to a picturesque harbour, three delightful beaches and a bustling village centre packed with shops and places to eat, this is the quintessential village experience.”

The harbour is an obvious selling point for the village, particularly in the warmer months.

It houses two yacht clubs, hundreds of pleasure craft, houseboats and fishing vessels, with there being numerous places to stay on Embankment Road, which goes past it.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the village, you can find the National Trust site of Bembridge Windmill.

Its website adds: “This little gem is a Grade 1 listed building and one of the Island’s most iconic images.

“Built around 1700, it last operated in 1913 but still has most of its original machinery intact.

“Climb to the top of the mill then find out how it once worked as you descend its four floors.”

Alongside all of that, the Bembridge RNLI station is said to be one of the “most spectacular in Britain”, according to Visit Isle of Wight.

It adds: “The station is generally open to the public and weekly launches are staged during the summer months (callouts permitting).”
