The Isle of Wight is a great place for holiday shopping and has many hundreds of independently owned stores and high-street chains selling a vast range of goods, throughout the main towns.
There are also a number of specialist shops, including jewellers, art galleries, toy stores, antiques dealers and seaside gift shops, as well as countless boutiques.
Newport, the capital of the Isle of Wight, is the busiest retail town with a great mix of well-known high street chains which sit alongside a number of Isle of Wight independent stores selling everything from clothing and accessories to homeware and textiles.
The main High Street has a great range of shops including brands and dotted between these, there are a number of small independent shops selling fantastic Isle of Wight produce, bespoke homeware and furnishings, textiles, DIY equipment, and everything you could need to enjoy a day shopping in town.
Apart from Newport's main precinct, there are a number of small interesting alleyways which are home to many specialist outlets. Ryde is also a popular area and has a splendid Victorian shopping arcade, which is lined with a variety of tempting stores. Cowes, on the north side of the Isle of Wight, is the town for buying sailing goods and has several large nautical shops and fishing outlets.
Local high streets boast boutiques and galleries, perfect for picking up that unique memento of a seaside holiday. From jewellery shops, clothes and accessories, to homewares, toys and gifts, you can be certain to find that special something that simply cannot be found anywhere else.
