
The case of Richard Herbert, of High Street, Shanklin, was heard before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Monday, March 17.
The 26-year-old admitted communicating false information that a bomb was present in Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal, an offence which took place on February 9 of this year.
Herbert also admitted criminal damage and a racially aggravated public order offence, in Shanklin, a day later.

The court heard he caused £500 worth of damage to a door at Maximus Support Services.
Herbert’s case was adjourned to May 2 at the same venue for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
He was granted conditional bail until that date.
