Around 140 people gathered at Wootton Bridge Community Centre for the annual event, which celebrates the festival of light.
There were VIP guests including Isle of Wight High Sheriff Jacqueline Gazzard and Cllr Ed Blake.

The event was organiser by Dr Ramesh Babu, who also acted as MC.
There was a ceremonial lighting of the candle to symbolise the victory of light over darkness.
There was also a traditional Stick Dance among the many dances of the evening.
Guests enjoyed a curry feast and there was a raffle for Mountbatten.
