Pupils and staff in the Year 4 bubble at Lanesend Primary School in Cowes have been told to self-isolate for 14 days following 2 positive COVID-19 test results.
The school has worked closely with Public Health England on the matter, with parents informed of the double test result this afternoon (Sunday).
All pupils in Year 4 have been told not to return to school tomorrow for ‘Christmas week’, with the Year 4 staffing team also told to self-isolate.
Changes to the Government’s enforced self-isolation period come into force tomorrow (Monday) meaning that the length of self-isolation will be reduced to 10 days.
The senior leadership team say it is ‘very sad’ that this situation has developed at this time and they know that children and families will be disappointed not to be in school. Staff will endeavour to do as much as they can virtually to share the Christmas joy.
The rest of the school remains open as normal.
