UPDATED: CASUALTY RECOVERY OPERATION UNDERWAY IN EAST COWES


Multiple emergency crews are working together to recover a casualty in need of medical assistance this afternoon (Saturday).

HM Coastguard has tasked both Cowes RNLI lifeboat and Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Teams to the incident, which is ongoing in the vicinity of Kingston, East Cowes.

An ambulance and an Ambulance Officer is also in attendance at Cowes Harbour Services on Kingston Road, alongside 4 police units.

UPDATE @ 14:45 – It’s understood that emergency teams have responded to reports of an unconscious female in the River Medina.

Cowes RNLI inshore lifeboat has responded to a pontoon in the River and has worked with Bembridge CRT to recover the female to an awaiting ambulance at nearby Kingston Marine Services.

Paramedics are working to stabilise the casualty at the present time.
