TWO new deaths and two cases of coronavirus have been recorded on the Isle of Wight.
NHS England data has revealed one person died on Wednesday and another on Thursday this week, taking the number of hospital deaths on the Isle of Wight linked to Covid-19 to 146.
In all, 272 people have died on the Isle of Wight having tested positive for the disease.
The new cases, added to the county’s total today (Saturday), takes the cumulative figure to 6,676.
The rolling rate, which measures the rate per 100,000 people, had been declining, but currently stands at 14.1.
The UK average is 59.2, so the Isle of Wight remains well below that figure, making it one of lowest regions for Covid cases in the UK.
