REMINDER TO MOTORISTS AS CAR SEIZED FOR NO TAX IN SANDOWN

Police are reminding motorists that vehicle exercise duty – commonly known as road tax – on your vehicle is non transferable after a car was stopped and seized in Sandown this afternoon (Thursday).

The owner of the modified Toyota Chaser says that he didn’t know that the previous owner had declared the vehicle as off the road and thought it was taxed until September.

However, in seizing the vehicle, Police reminded the local driver that road tax payments made by the seller of a vehicle for the forthcoming months are non transferable, meaning it is down to the new owner to tax and insure their new vehicle accordingly.
