Premier Motors, commonly known as Premier Ford, will begin trading as both a Ford and MG dealer on 1st March, it has been announced.

The showroom at the Riverway dealership will be the new home for MG’s range of value-for-money cars as well as servicing, repairs and accessories.

Work is being completed on the new sales showroom with dedicated MG and Ford zones as well as the construction of a new customer greeting reception that will provide full service
and aftersales support. 2 new charging stations are also ready for use for all plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles.

This is the final stage in Premier Motor’s expansion after it became the sole occupier of the Riverway site. With an additional larger workshop, the Premier Van Centre recently launched as a dedicated commercial vehicle specialist for sales and servicing with a dedicated team of technicians working on commercial vehicles to keep Island businesses moving.

Throughout the pandemic, Premier Van Centre technicians have also been servicing and repairing our NHS ambulances.

Whilst this is an exciting time for the company, as well as existing and future MG customers, the sales showroom will remain temporarily closed due to the current COVID restrictions. Customers can still explore the MG range via the new Premier Motors website, view in-depth video walkarounds of each model and register more information. New and used cars and vans can be supplied via a Click and Collect service.

As an essential service, Premier Motors remains open for both approved Ford & MG Servicing, as well MOT bookings, Accident Repairs along with car and van hire. Customers can have their car or van serviced using a COVID protection collection and delivery service.

David Rye, Premier Motors Managing Director said:

“This is a very exciting time for the company and we are looking forward to working with an additional marque that is getting stronger and stronger. MG is making great quality cars, including electric models, affordable to all and will bring a fresh new alternative to customers across the Island.

“It is unfortunate that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot open the showroom immediately with a big launch event and invite everyone in to see both the development of the business see the fantastic MG range in the metal. We will continue to following government guidelines, so that does mean we can supply our first New MGs online via our Click and Collect service”

MG is the UK’s fastest-growing car brand with a total registration of 18,415 in 2020, an increase of 41% over its previous best sales year in 2019, despite the challenging market conditions led by the UK lockdown and COVID-19 restrictions.

Premier Motors will continue to be the Island’s main Ford dealer and Transit Centre, as it has done for the last 98 years, with the Riverway showroom home to the latest Ford cars and vans including Plug-in Hybrid, Mild Hybrid and full battery electric models.
