NO CORONAVIRUS PATIENTS AT ST MARY’S – WITH JUST 12 IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS


The latest data released by the Government shows that there were no coronavirus patients in St Mary’s Hospital as of the 30th May.

The figures also reveal that just 12 people were admitted to hospital on the Isle of Wight following a positive coronavirus test in the previous 2 months – with a total of 745 patients admitted since the beginning of the pandemic and the 30th May.

Since the 6th April of this year, there have been 171 positive tests recorded on the Island, with a total of 6,868 positive tests since testing began last year.

The news comes as more than half of the Island’s population has now been fully vaccinated against the virus, with the vaccination programme now being extended to include those aged between 25 and 29, as previously reported by Island Echo.
