The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to reports of a fire on the outskirts of Newport tonight (Wednesday) – an hour before the second national lockdown comes into place.
Firefighters from 3 stations responded to an address on the new Pan Estate on the outskirts of Newport.
2 appliances from Newport Fire Station, Wholetime and Retained crew, along with a crew from Cowes were called to the residential property shortly after 23:00.
However, crews were stood down shortly after as it was discovered the fire was out upon arrival of the emergency services.
Fire crews have now since returned to their home stations.
