Festival revellers can expect a mixed bag when it comes to the weather with bright blue skies and potentially thundery downpours set for this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.
Thursday will be a very warm day with hazy sunshine as thousands descend on the Isle of Wight for the start of the 4-day event.
According to forecasters at IW Met Service, Friday will be the best day with predictions of a hot and sunny day.
Saturday should stay very warm or even hot throughout, but perhaps a little more in the way of increasing cloud. There is a small chance of some light rain showers.
Overnight Saturday and into Sunday it seems likely that showers will develop with some very heavy and possibly thundery downpours in places.
Sunday looks like a much cooler day with mostly cloudy conditions along with some patchy rain at times.
Jamie Russell, Chief Forecaster at IW Met Service says:
“Our confidence after Friday is extremely low at this point due to a lot of divergence between the weather models, however, it does seem likely that Sunday will be the coolest and most unsettled day of the festival”.
