A detached Victorian residence in Ventnor, comprising of 4 self-contained flats, has sold in auction for £241,000.

Rookley Villa, at Marlborough Road, was among 135 lots listed by regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.

Rob Marchant, Clive Emson’s Isle of Wight auctioneer, said:

“We had keen interest, which result in the virtual gavel coming down on a bid of £241,000. Three of the flats are vacant and the fourth is held under separate ownership under the terms of a 99-year lease from 1977.”

With 2 bedrooms, a freehold house at 3 Ocean View Road, Ventnor, fetched £89,500.

The sale of a freehold investment for 30 Albert Street, Ventnor, guided at £73,000-plus, was postponed. The 2-bedroom house is let under an assured tenancy agreement, at £3,380 per annum.

Re-available lots include the long-vacant property at 52, 54 and 56 Fitzroy Street and 66 and 68 Station Avenue, Sandown, which had a freehold guide price of £300,000-plus.
