COUNCILLOR WARNS OF CLIFF FALL DANGER ON SANDOWN TO SHANKLIN REVETMENT


Those enjoying an autumnal walk between Sandown and Shanklin are being urged to be mindful of the potential for falling debris in the vicinity of Littlestairs Road in Lake.

Parish councillor Adrian Whittaker has raised the alarm that a section of cliff is starting to crumble, resulting in metal railings falling into the undergrowth below.

More railings and large sections of wood are now about to fall away near to the steps from Littlestairs Road.

The situation has been reported to Island Roads and the Isle of Wight Council.

The footpath above has been closed for sometime, but the revetment below remains open to those crossing The Bay.
